Subcommittee on the Five-Star Policy Recognition Program

Charges:

  1. Review nominations by state and provincial councils for the Five Star Policy Recognition Program according to the established guidelines.
   a. for Phase I (Promises made); and
   b. for Phase II (Promises kept) for those states/provinces that have passed Phase I last year.

2. Make appropriate recommendations for Phase I and Phase II to the Board of Directors by February 20, 2009.

3. Maintain communication with award winning states as an indication of IRA's interest and commitment to their continued efforts to maintain policies and practices that support students' literacy rights.
